Default basemap configuration

Default basemaps are provided for users to use when viewing and analyzing geodata in DataInsights. And as the administrator, you can add, delete, or sort these basemaps.

• Adjust the default basemap order

Add default basemaps

Log in to the portal home page as an administrator, click Management>Site Config>DataInsights page, select the "Default Basemap" tab to add basemaps. You can add the default basemaps in

the following three ways:

1. Add internet map as default basemap

DataInsights supports selecting the mainstream internet maps as default basemaps. You can add them by clicking the "Add Internet map" button, checking the target internet map name in the pop-up dialog box, click "OK" to finish adding. Currently, it supports adding: Tianditu map, Tianditu image, Tianditu terrain, Google Map, China Dark map as basemaps. When adding the Tianditu/Google map as the basemap, you need to type in your applied Key from Tianditu/Google API website.

2. Add the map services in iPortal as default basemap

The map services in iPortal can be set as basemaps for DataInsights. You could add by clicking the "Add more" button and input the keyword of the specific map name to search the map you want to add in the pop-up dialog box. Then check the corresponding checkbox, click "OK", the selected maps will be added to the default basemap list. Currently only supports adding REST services projected as EPSG Code: 4326, EPSG Code: 3857,  EPSG Code: 4490 as default basemaps.

3. Customize a default basemap by adding the map service address

You can also customize default basemaps. Click the "Custom" button, then input the map services address in the pop-up dialog box, click "OK", the map will be added to the default basemap list automatically. Currently only supports adding map services projected as EPSG Code: 4326, EPSG Code: 3857,  EPSG Code: 4490 as default basemaps.

After you add default basemaps, the normal users can select these maps as the basemaps in DataInsights.

Before starting the iPortal service for the first time, the system defaults to a built-in China Dark map as the default base map.

Notice:

The DataInsights supports the configuration of vector tiles as the basemap. If you use the vector tile service as the basemap, you need to check the "Use vector tiles" option after entering the service address.

Delete default basemaps

All the basemaps including the pre-added China Dark map can be removed. Check the checkboxes of the corresponding basemaps, click "Delete" to remove them. They can be added again.

Adjust the default basemap order

iPortal provides the ability to prioritize the display order of a basemap. When you add many basemaps in DataInsights, it's very useful for you to set the commonly used basemaps at the front for users in your portal site to have a good experience.

Specific steps: Drag the target map to the front. After finishing all the adjusting actions, click "Save".
